About Prof. Konikoff
Prof. Konikoff is a leading Gastroenterologist in Israel. He is the former head of the department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Meir Medical Center. He is a full professor (emeritus) of medicine and past incumbent of The Josefina Maus and Gabriela Cesarman Chair for Research in Liver Diseases, Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University. He served as the head of the prestigious Minerva center for the study of gallstones and lipid metabolism in the liver at Tel Aviv University.
Prof. Konikoff graduated from Sackler School of Medicine, Tel-Aviv University, The Technion, Israel Institute of Technology with a fellowship at Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA.
Prof. Konikoff is a specialist in Gastroenterology and Internal medicine, with a special interest in complex endoscopic procedures including Interventional Gastroscopy, Colonoscopy and
ERCP. He is a pioneer in Radiofrequency ablation of Barrett's Esophagus in Israel. He is a leading expert in Biliary disorders.
